Basil essence, next to sage and rosemary, is the most important herbal ingredient in perfumery. Herbal sweetness intermingles with leafy nuances similar to the smell of petitgrain. Its use is very wide, it is especially well combined with other herbs and citrus.
NOTE: The above essence is the so-called “linalool type”. It is characterized by a high content of linalool, which makes its character more leafy compared to the second type, the so-called “methyl chavicol type”, which is more anise.
