Alaskan cedar is a common name for a tree in the cypress family, called Cupressus Nootkatensis. The smell of its essence is definitely more cedar than cypress. It has many facets of Virginia cedar but it is more distinctive and diffusive.
What distinguishes its essence is the high content of Nootkatone and Nootkatene molecules, which give a bright, even citrus shade.
